The H. Hanford Hopkins, IV, Collection documents four generations of Maryland physicians. It contains a ledger of patient accounts (1892-1912) from Frederick County, Maryland, kept by Hopkins' grandfather; Hopkins' notes from his first year as a medical student at Johns Hopkins (1923-24); a manuscript by Hopkins on The History of Dermatology in Baltimore, along with research notes for the project (1982); and genealogical materials, including a manuscript entitled The Hopkins Family of Penna and Devon, England, and photographs of four generations of Drs. Howard Hanford Hopkins. The collection also contains instruments used by Hopkins.
