Gertrude Bunting
Gertrude Bunting was born in St. Catherine's, Ontario. She received her nursing diploma in 1911. She served as army nurse and chief nurse in France from 1917 to 1920, for which she received the Purple Heart. From 1928 to 1940 she acted as superintendent of nurses at the Sheppard-Pratt Hospital. She was employed as librarian of the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing from 1943 to 1946.

The Gertrude Bunting Collection consists of her purple heart medal, a citation certificate from the United States Army American Expeditionary Forces, and a citation in the Alumnae magazine.
