Ronald T. Rolley

Ronald T. Rolley was born in Detroit, Michigan. He received his B.A. in 1959 from the College of Wooster and his M.D. in 1963 from Western Reserve University School of Medicine. During his residency at the Medical College of Virginia, Rolley spent two years conducting research at the National Cancer Institute. In 1971, he continued this research at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne, Australia, one of the top research centers for basic immunology in the world. From 1972 until 1977, Rolley served on the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore and on the faculty in surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He specialized in vascular surgery and did research in tumor and transplantation immunology at the Surgical Research Laboratory of the Thomas O'Neill Memorial Laboratories that were operated jointly by Good Samaritan Hospital and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
