Administrative/Biographical History
Jacqueline Boothe was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended college at Maryville College and Washington University in St. Louis. She received her nursing diploma from the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. Upon graduation, she became Assistant Director of Nursing Education at Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis. In 1966 she returned to Johns Hopkins as Administrative Assistant to the Associate Director of the School of Nursing, Margaret Courtney. In 1970, she left Johns Hopkins to became director of Good Samaritan College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Cincinnati, Ohio, a position she held for nearly twenty years. She was an active patron of the arts and created named scholarships at Good Samaritan College and at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
