Mary Dunlap Heard
19 November 1888 - 28 February 1947
Mary Dunlap Heard was born in Kerr's Creek, Virginia. She attended Harrisonburg State Normal School and taught four years before applying to the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nurses. Dunlop received her nursing degree there in 1917 and worked at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for 3 years. She married Osborne Heard May 6, 1919., JHHSON class of 1917

Scope and Content

The Mary Dunlap Heard Collection consists of her lecture notes while a student at the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nurses covering the period 1915-1916 , a newspaper clipping noting Dunlap's results of the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses and a fee receipt from the Johns Hopkins Nurses' Club.
