Edith Alberta Nunn was born in Milford, Delaware in 1909. She received her B.S. degree from the Women's College, University of Delaware in 1929. After graduating from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1932, she was employed by the Johns Hopkins Hospital, first as a general duty nurse and later as a Head Nurse from 1933 to 1941. She married Harland Frank Cobb in April of 1947. She was an active member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurses' Alumnae Association as well as the American Nurses Association and Nurses Association of Maryland.
